GRADUATION CEREMONY 2019

The 11th graduation ceremony at Nu-Vision High School was held on 15th September, 2019. On that day 291 students in the Senior 3 and Senior 6 Rwanda National Programme and the Year 11 and Year 13 Cambridge International Programme received certificates of completion from our Chief Guest Prof Geoffrey Rugege from the African Leadership University Kigali. The theme for this year’s graduation ceremony was ‘Never Give Up’

DRESS CODE AND HAIR STYLE

DRESS CODE

School uniforms must be worn in a tidy and decent manner. Different uniforms are worn for different purposes (i.e. Class uniforms for classes and any outings or reporting back to school, sports uniforms for sports/games and sports outings), as directed by the Administration.

A sense of modesty and cultural refinement demands that all extremes be avoided. Indecent clothing or clothes with suggestive or inappropriate words or pictures are prohibited. Jewellery, studs, earrings, makeup, bangles and other items deemed inappropriate by the administration may not be worn at school.

BOYS DRESS REGULATIONS

Boys may not wear baggy trousers, trousers “pulled down”, or any other clothing that is suggestive or immodest. Male students should keep their hair short. Those with beards must trim them and keep them tidy and nice looking at all times. Proper school shoes must be worn for classes and sports shoes for sporting activities.

GIRLS DRESS REGULATIONS

Girls may not wear miniskirts, skirts with long slits, revealing dresses or tops, any clothing that, in the opinion of the administration, is suggestive or immodest. Girls’ dresses must be 10cm below the knee. All female students are allowed to keep their hair or wear braids. The braids must be black and meet the school’s specifications. (Coloured braids are not acceptable).

The pictures below show the types of braids acceptable at Nu-Vision High School.

SWITZERLAND SUMMER CAMP

SWITZERLAND SUMMER CAMP: 3RD-10TH AUGUST, 2019

Between 3rd-10th August 2019, Nu-vision high school students took part in the Swiss Summmer Camp program organized by Swiss Educational Academy (SAE) specifically designed for high school students. This program took place in Swiss Hospitality Management School (SHMS) in Leysin, and brought together young people from across the globe e.g. Russia, Rwanda, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, China, Zimbabwe and others. The summer program is designed to give them a revelation into the school of hospitality and general insight on Switzerland.

All Nu-vision students enrolled in a week-long language program where they had a rigorous learning to improve and advance their English. The summer program was not just about classwork; it was also full of extracurricular and mind-challenging activities. Students had the opportunity of touring and exploring Switzerland and getting a glimpse of breath-taking views from the mountains and visiting the famous Maison Cailler chocolate factory in Guyere. In addition, students were also treated to a variety of sporting activities like skating, mountain climbing, swimming, soccer, zipline activities, fun games and myriads of other events that were aimed at building team spirit and collaboration.

The program was so fantastic and amazing in every sense. Students got the opportunity of meeting and interacting with other students from across the globe.  At the tail end of the program, the students were awarded certificates for successfully completing the program. Indeed this program challenged our students to learn to look at issues with a wide perspective and exposed them to the world of business and hospitality. It was a remarkable experience!

Model United Nations Conference (MUN): UN Headquarters, Nairobi

Model United Nations Conference (MUN): UN Headquarters, Nairobi

This year the school  sent 34 student delegates to participate in the Sub-Saharan Africa International Model United Nations Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi held on 1st July-5th July, 2019 under the theme: Youth Leadership at its peak: The role of youth in sustainable development.  It was a great learning experience for our students as they were able to debate on a wide range of issues normally deliberated by the real UN committees. We are proud as a school because one of our students Muhimuzi Ntwari Jireh Yr 12 was selected as the best delegate in his committee and the Rwandan cultural dance performed by Nu-Vision students was unanimously voted as number one by the panel of judges. Special thanks to parents for unrelenting support towards the success of this year’s program and look forward to creating more avenues to expose our students to more worldviews
